Wine Spectator February - 2021

Lovely, with jasmine oil and honeysuckle notes leading the way for a thoroughly seductive display of white tea, date, peach melba, white ginger and toasted sesame notes. Long finish lingers prettily and with ease. Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Tinta Barroca.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
The 1960 Colheita Tawny Port is a roughly equal blend of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca and Tinta Barroca coming in with 167 grams of residual sugar. This release was bottled in July 2020 with a bar-top cork. On opening, there's a lot of sugar showing here too, as with its younger siblings (they were all recently bottled), which does obscure the complexity to some extent. However, this has a very different demeanor once past the sugar. It shows off much more complexity and nuance, more molasses and seared caramel. It is still quite fresh and elegant for its age, a sunny Colheita. Not quite as intense as some in this age range, it does everything else beautifully. There is, especially, that wonderful medley of complex aromas and classic flavors in the background. The finish is nuanced and intricate. It seals the deal here. This goes down easy, tastes great and adds a lot of distinction. It's a prime-time Colheita.

Wine Enthusiast December - 2020

Bottled after 60 years in wood, this Port shows extraordinary intensity. It has kept plenty of richness from the original fruitiness, but it is the old gold and wood flavors that bring out concentration and the bite of spirit that opens up the palate at the end. Drink this fine wine now.

Jancis Robinson June - 2020

Darker than the 1980. Pungent nose of cordite. Round and sweet but with nuance and heat but briary and whistle-clean. Big and bold – much sweeter than the 1980. Great panoply of flavours and pretty robust. Very vital and in better condition than the 1980. Satin-smooth texture and I even caught a (positive) whiff of kipper! Richard Mayson, who had the advantage of tasting the wine over several days from a bottle, said the nose went from lifted to something calmer and even more impressive.

Grandes Escolhas : Mahogany color, rich yet subtle aroma, with notes of hazelnuts and almonds, tobacco leaf, resins, ginger and cinnamon. Very balanced in the mouth, with a beautiful texture, velvety and complex, rich in the finish, very long and leaving hints of dried fruits hovering on the palate.
