Cellar Tracker February - 2024

Smooth and subtle with well integrated elements. A well developed wine with good balance, that is satisfied with its career and now slowly is retiring. Very soft in the middle part with reduced body and weight. Very enjoyable nonetheless, making you content and giving you a smile

A concentrated, delicious wine. Ruby-coloured, with an amber hue. Plenty of chocolate, ripe fruit and seashells on the nose. Full-bodied and very ripe, with velvety tannins and lots of chocolate, berry and tobacco flavours. Long finish.

Jean-Marc Quarin June - 1993

Blood red colour. Good intensity. Evolved on the rim. Bright. Nuance of ethyl-4-phenol on the nose. Some fruit. Animal and rather simple for the year. Better after aeration. Leather. Undergrowth and hint of alcohol. Soft attack, developing on a round structure, medium concentration. The tannic evolution is fairly well balanced. Medium finish on ripe tannins but without complexity. Wine without magic. Drink now.

Very, very deep crimson. Low-key nose. Thick. Stern. Dry. Mass rather than charm, but a stout effort and a slow developer.

Château Gazin
Gazin
The wines of Château GAZIN are very typical of the Pomerol terroir. Their sumptuous generosity offers a wide aromatic palette of red and black fruits that harmonises with their intense purple or garnet colour. The wines of Château GAZIN also often deliver nuances of plum, chocolate, coffee or liquorice, aromas of almond, toasted bread, tobacco and vanilla, and a freshness of mint. Maturity gives them a spicy nose, truffle perfumes, notes of undergrowth and animal scents: game, fur, leather... On the palate, they are characterised by the finesse of their tannins, their balance and concentration enhanced by delicate oakiness. Feminine and charming, due to the dominance of Merlot, Château GAZIN wines can be enjoyed pleasantly after a few years of ageing, but they often deserve to wait fifteen, twenty years or more.
