The 1986 is the best Filhot in my memory. The light golden color is followed by a wine with a floral, pineapple, and tropical fruit-scented bouquet, medium body, as well as lovely, elegant, and brilliantly pure, botrytised, lively flavors. Just medium sweet, this wine could be served as an aperitif wine.

Château Filhot

The Château Filhot is a vineyard, 350 hectares including 62 hectares of vineyards, located in Sauternes in Gironde. Sauternes AOC, it is ranked second cru classé in the official classification of Bordeaux wines of 1855.

On a serious soil, clay and sand resting on the limestone plateau, the vines of Chateau Filhot comprises 60% Semillon, 36% sauvignon and 4% Muscadelle. The vines are 35 years old castle Filhot middle age and produce a yield of 15-18 hl / ha.
