92/94 for a great aged profile, with lots of smokiness and still vivid fruit and freshness Great drinking window, that one was stored by a friend for 20, and 10 more at my place... Served twice with Coravin getting the best of it apparently. Nose is leathery, with marine notes, seaweed, oyster shell... charcoal and burned smokiness... soot... Palate is soft, rounded and great acidity, it is quite long but so smooth and delicate with a light touch of oak... smokiness, saltiness, exquisite wine in that state. Super complex! Enjoyable

Jean-Marc Quarin September - 2000

Dark red colour. Medium intensity. Slight evolution. Brilliant. Nose of medium intensity. It needs to be aerated. Fruity and animal notes. More intense when swirled. Fruity. It develops smoky and spicy notes as it evolves in the glass. Powerful when swirled. Energetic from the attack, it develops juicy and quite rich without having a very tight texture. The tannin is enveloped and the wine finishes powerful and a little too warm. I would criticise its lack of complexity. It's a monobloc!

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
This vintage is decidedly mixed in the southern part of the Pessac-Leognan appellation, but Fieuzal has turned in a fine effort. The wine still retains a youthful, deep ruby/purple colour with purple nuances. The nose is more backward than recent Fieuzal vintages, displaying earth, spice, new oak, and moderately sweet blackcurrant and cranberry fruit. It is a medium-bodied wine with high tannin. This Fieuzal has evolved at a glacial pace and should have a long life. I expected it to be fully mature by now, but it appears to need another 4-5 years of cellaring.

Information on the vintage 1986 red Bordeaux: On the whole, 1986 produced hard, tannic wines which at best, given time, might - just might - turn out well.
