Falstaff November - 2016
Falstaff
Light yellow-green, silver hues, fresh, persistent mousse. Scented floral notes, fresh tangerine and orange zest, unobtrusive toasted aromas, nutty touch. Full-bodied, elegant, white peach nuances, mineral, finely expressive, lingers, delicate aftertaste of mocha and nuts. A multi-faceted food companion.

What a fabulous wine this DP 2006 is, from a generally dry and warm vintage. There's a fabulously flinty, seal-salt and minerals quality on the nose, the wine immediately suggesting power and great concentration. It is gently toasty, all those complex reductive notes making for endlessly fascinating aromatics. In the mouth it is taut, intense and equally concentrated, but this is not a brawny wine; instead the sinew connects clean, powerful lemon rind and creamy fruit notes that have a certain fat, but no excess. It's a wine that edges on phenolic, with some tannin giving real authority, but somehow it is charming too with its balance and fruit purity. A terrific DP.

Robert PARKER - The Wine Advocate
The 2006 Dom Pérignon comes from a very rich vintage with an early ripeness that brought a lot of aromatic maturity. The white-golden prestige cuvée contains a bit more Chardonnay than Pinot Noir and opens with a deep and seductive, pretty accessible nose with intense yet fresh fruit aromas of pineapples, with peaches and tangerines. Lively and elegant on the palate, this is a full-bodied, unusually aromatic and fruity DP with a long and tension-filled expression.

A wonderful vintage from Dom - much better than the 2005 with more precision, focus and freshness. Love the linear character that is supported by nice depth of toasty, sweet flavors. The finish is fairly long.

Dom Perignon
Dom Perignon

Dom Pérignon is a legendary vintage champagne in France. In 1668, a young monk Dom Pierre Pérignon, moved the mission to create the "world's best wine". Such ambition revealed in this young monk thirty years ago, a visionary and extraordinary audacity. The engagement of Dom Perignon is that all the Champagnes must be produced only with the harvest of the same year.

The productions of Dom Pérignon were very popular at that time. When Dom Pérignon died, the price dropped somewhat, but not its popularity. The 1921 vintage is unquestionably the best vintage. Dom Pérignon champagnes are very long aging.
