(1-1991) This is an excellent wine with abundant quantities of botrytis, as evidenced by its honeyed pineapple- and orange-scented nose. In the mouth, it is full, wonderfully pure, focused, and long, with moderate sweetness. This Sauternes could actually serve as a good aperitif as well as a dessert wine.

Château Bastor Lamontagne
Until 1710, the Bastor-Lamontagne estate was the property of the King of France, successor in Guyenne to the King of England, whose assets fell into the coffers of the King of France. In 1711, the château was purchased by Vincent de la Montaigne, Counsellor to the Parliament of Bordeaux. However, it was the Larrieu family who established the viticultural career of Bastor-La Montagne. In 1936, it was sold to the Crédit Foncier de France. Only the wines from the best vintages, produced from the finest terroirs and the richest selections, are bottled. The wines of Bastor-Lamontagne showcase all the harmony of great Sauternes: lively, they often possess a floral bouquet where honey and acacia flavours mingle. Thanks to their power and complexity, they make ideal wines for ageing. On the palate, their balance is remarkable and the concentration is well supported by great aromatic freshness.
