Our opinion on the 1964 vintage: a high-quality vintage. 

In Bordeaux, the harvest went well despite the heavy rains. The maturation of the Merlot has reached its peak, favored by a hot summer. In Sauternes, the rains of the late season did not allow the production of great wines. Good climatic conditions in Burgundy allowed the ripening of the grapes. The red wines are excellent, full-bodied and fragrant. In the Rhône Valley, the 1964 vintage is of very good quality but with low yields. The wines are superb, generous and incredibly full. Concerning the Champagnes, this 1964 vintage is also excellent.

The wines of the Rhône are clearly superior in the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation and in the Hermitage they are great for keeping.
