1957 Vintage wine

The 1957 vintage, contrasted but of good quality

In Bordeaux, the vines suffered from rather changeable climatic conditions with a mild February, hot March, frosts in April until the harvests with a terribly hot month of September. The result is green wines with acidity. This acidity has in return allowed them to age well. Some wines have surprised, like the Château Lafite Rothschild 1957, showing themselves to be marvelous and harmonious; especially in the Graves appellation with the Château Haut Brion 1957, and La Mission Haut Brion 1957.

In Burgundy the weather will have been cool and rainy. The wines are tasty, with a strong acidity which allows them to keep a sparkling tone over the years. There is a special mention for the Grands Echézeaux.
