Our opinion on the 1935 vintage: an exceptional year for the white wines of Burgundy. The wines of the 1935 vintage are simple, correct. The red wines of Bordeaux are light but they lack a little structure. The weather was not always kind during this year 1935, resulting in rainy weather conditions during the harvest. On the other hand, the Sauternes are rather good and have a good aromatic bouquet such as the Château Filhot 1935. This vintage was bottled just before the outbreak of the Second World War.

In Burgundy, the vintage is considered excellent for white wines, while for red wines, the quality is slightly lower, but still good and very pleasant in the mouth. The current vintage shows strong similarities with the previous year, 1934.

In the Rhone Valley, 1935 is not a very interesting vintage, except for the Hermitage of Jean Louis Chave which is great.
