The wines of 1920, an exceptional vintage for the vineyards of Bordeaux

1920 is a legendary year in Bordeaux, with subtle and elegant wines. All of the 1920 Bordeaux Grands Crus are exceptional. The Château Lafite Rothschild 1920, Château Latour 1920, Château Mouton Rothschild 1920 and Château Cheval Blanc 1920 offer very fine wines. Futhermore, the sweet white wines of Sauternes are exceptional such as the Château D‘Yquem 1920.

1920 is a good start to the best decade of Burgundy. However, the region experienced some bad weather during the year. The harvest took place in good conditions but resulted in a low yield. The largest estates produced balanced and fruity red wines. The Chambertin, Charmes-Chambertin and Chambolle Musigny appellations stand out with superior quality wines.
