"Fonroque has always given birth during the great years, with very good wines. It was often hot vintages, which supported relatively high yields and where the problems of maturity does not arise, on a land which some components are not very early. But the reputation of a soil is also, perhaps more importantly,. from lesser vintages. There was clearly a financial sacrifice to make. In addition, the search for optimal maturity would be revisited in the spring to ensure the harvest of ripe fruit whatever the weather of the year. . ".
